Malcolm Todd is wearing "Earrings" in his new ad campaign, and a lot of denim.
Along with Obsession star Inde Navarrette, Malcolm has been tapped to star in Gap's new "Denim On Your Own" campaign. As part of the campaign, he's recorded his own version of Robyn's iconic hit "Dancing On Your Own."
"They didn’t tell me to, you know, 'Make a copy of the song,' or have me follow any specific rules," Malcolm tells Hypebeast. "They just told me to use my voice and really made me feel like my individuality was the superpower in all this. So I really just went in there excited to see how I could use my voice to make the song special."
As for starring in a campaign for such an iconic brand, Malcolm says, "I remember back-to-school shopping at Gap with my mom, being at the mall and seeing a huge Gap poster with just like the three letters."
"All of it is just ingrained in our culture, so it’s such an honor to be a part of it. On the music front, too, Gap has partnered with so many artists. It’s a huge honor. I feel like a part of history."
And before you ask, yes, Malcolm's seen Obsession — twice.
